1. Backgrounds
- Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) is a flammable liquid that has been used as an additive for unleaded gasoline since the 1980s. MTBE increases octane and oxygen levels in gasoline and reduces pollution emissions[1].

2. Objective
The feed stream contains mainly C4 components. This application investigates the possibility of increasing the MTBE recovery to 99.8% and to determine the purity to which this corresponds.

3.1 Component Selection (00:00 ~ 00:27)
- Click "Component Selection" to view the AVEVA PRO/II Simulation - Component Selection dialog box.
- Input PRLN, C3, IC4, IBTE, BUT1, 13BD, NC4, BTT2, BTC2, MEOH, IC5, MTBE, TBA, MTAE in the "Component" and click "Add", respectively.
